The S/BFL is an independent not-for-profit lending library. It is a community endeavor that promotes literacy, fosters community engagement via showcasing the works of Black women (and men) and others from the Black and African diaspora, who work toward positive social change via particular, intersectional standpoints. All work at the S/BFL is done on a volunteer basis. Our support for material comes from contributions from community members, and are used to continue building this great project and space.
Donating allows us to continue to provide important material for our local community, and also enables us to offset costs in providing art education and creativity during our monthly community art and craft activities.
